Fresh summergear

I think there’s more going on than I have time to update my blog, however I am still going to post some bits and pieces of my work and clothing done on my own time whenever I have time. Here are some photos I took this month in Helsinki downtown. Had a fun afternoon styling Andrew at his courtyard. The shirt is my design and rest of the style is from his wardrobe.

Yarrr!

I’m on a winter holiday and despite a little cold my sewing machine has been buzzing on full speed.

It seems that I am having a fever for traveling and to be honest I am yearning  for new adventures. We’ll see what the future holds for me, hopefully around the world trip.

Anyway, here’s one of my newest creations. This is definitely not the only piece to the sailor theme this week.. more will be coming. This one  goes to some of my friends as surprise present, but I haven’t decided yet who will be the lucky one. 😉

Random Saturday Fun

I had an inspiration boost on last Friday evening and did some new gear for this autumn. I had had an idea for a while to take some photos at this location and on Saturday I called my friend Tiina to model me. We had so much fun because Tiina never ever looks serious, but she’s brilliant and of  course she nailed it. Thank you Tiina.

Textures and details

It’s nice t times to find some “extra time” to do clothing for yourself and friends on free time. This was a prototype of a men’s shirt/light jacket. Mix of black denim and cotton with subtle texture. Metal buttons with loops are this garments speciality.

New styles

Here are some new pieces that I have designed and sewn this Autumn/Winter. Big thank you for Kaisa and Pompa for modeling.

New style for Paula

I got to the four finalist in a design competition organized by Paulig. The idea was to design a new outfit for Paula girl who’s has been the face of Paulig for  ages.

The starting point of a new style of Paula’s outfit was the preservation of traditions and highlighting fresh vibe. The attire is repeating a pattern of stylized Sääksmäki national dress floral pattern, which was a source of inspiration for the outfit. The outfit consist a shirt with embroidered collar and lace sleeves, a skirt made of wool blend and a handbag/clutch made of reindeer leather with a floral detail created with pyrography technique.

Men’s wear

I designed and made a long sleeved shirt and also did the styling for my good friend Antti for a Juha Mustonen Yksi book publishing and fashion photography exhibition opening party last autumn. Now I finally got at the KontrolZ studios and Juha took the shots. Go check the  photos here.
